In the Summer Term 2026 there will be an additional block course in Data Mining (5 CP),
suggested for WiWi-Bachelor Profilierungsphase by Prof. Dr. Golosnoy and Dr. Seifert, Chair of Statistics/Econometrics.

Format: lectures
Dates: Tuesday 16/6, Thursday 18/6, Tuesday 30/6, Thursday 1/7, each day from 2.00 to 6.00 pm
Place: will be announced later
Exam: written examination

There is a limited number of places in the course.
Please apply until Friday June 5th by e-mail to statistik-lehre@ruhr-uni-bochum.de with your transcript of records attached. The selected participants will be added to the Moodle course.

Content: Introduction to Data Mining with a focus on quantitative methods, mostly supervised learning
(linear regression and beyond, regression trees/random forest, classification).

Language: English and German
Prerequisites: successfully passed courses Statistics I and II
