About our faculty
The Faculty of Business and Economics is committed to the ideal unity between research and teaching and strives to meet high academic standards in both areas. The faculty consists of 27 chairs as well as numerous junior professorships and postdocs. It achieves excellent positions in rankings; for example, according to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, we were classified as the third most influential economics faculty in Germany. In teaching, we pursue an integrative approach that combines business administration and economics and is widely known as the “Bochum model”. We offer an undergraduate economics course (BSc Management and Economics) at Bachelor’s level and specialized Master’s programmes (MSc Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Controlling and Taxation (FAACT), MSc Econometrics, MSc Economic Policy Consulting, MSc Sales Management, MSc Global Sustainability Economics (GSE)) in addition to the MSc Management and Economics.
