Prof. Dr. Thorsten Knauer, holder of the Chair of Business Administration, specializing in Controlling, was elected Chair of the Scientific Commission on Controlling, Accounting, and Auditing (COREP) during the 85th Annual Conference of the Association of University Professors of Business Administration (VHB).
He succeeds Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jochen Zimmermann (University of Bremen), who has led the commission over the past two years with great dedication and a number of new initiatives.
With over 400 members, the COREP Scientific Commission is one of the largest specialist commissions within the VHB and is dedicated to fostering intensive professional exchange in the fields of controlling, accounting, and auditing. In 2027, the commission will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Its first chair was Prof. Dr. Klaus Chmielewicz, a business economist from Bochum.
With this appointment, Prof. Dr. Knauer assumes an important role in coordinating the commission’s work and providing professional guidance. The chairmanship also entails membership on the VHB’s advisory board.
