Seed funding awarded for an initiative on just energy transition

WUN university network promotes new research project

The research initiative AFFINITY-FORSIDES – Africa-Focused Initiative for Just Energy Transition has received seed funding from the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN). The project is led by Dr. Elkhan Richard Sadik-Zada, a member of the Chair of Development Research at the Faculty of Management and Economics, Ruhr University Bochum.

AFFINITY-FORSIDES brings together 12 out of the 24 partner universities within the WUN network. The project aims to establish an innovative and transdisciplinary dialogue forum for a just energy transition in Africa, connecting academic research with practical insights.

At its core, AFFINITY-FORSIDES unites scholars from all continents and across disciplines. By integrating diverse perspectives, the initiative seeks to foster inclusive, multi-stakeholder dialogue and contribute to shaping a socially just and sustainable energy transition in Africa.
