The World in 2030 – Lecture Series in Blue Square, Bochum

12.01.2018

The Communications Department at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in co-operation with the Chair of Macroeconomics.

Digitalization, climate change, worldwide migration, demographic change and the reform of world politics – these are important issues which already influence our lives today. The series of lectures “Changes” dares to provide a glimpse into the near future. What effect will these changes have on our lives in ten to fifteen years? By looking into the future we want to find answers for the present. How do we define a worthwhile life? Which political decisions ought to be made now?

More efficient computers and robots, artificial intelligence and increased networking offer both opportunities and risks in for example the collection and evaluation of all types of data. The main theme in the first half of 2018 is digitalization in all its facets.

The first event is scheduled to take place on 14th February, 2018 with the theme “A Glimpse into the Future”. Further events and information on how to apply can be found here.
