Ruhr Metropolis meets Tel Aviv

Under the slogan „Ruhr Metropolis meets Tel Aviv“ eighteen representatives from the industry and public sector travelled to Israel from 19th until 21st June 2018 to experience the „Israeli Ecosystem“. Dr. Christian Warnecke represented the Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transformation (CEIT).

Israel and especially Tel Aviv count as the most important start-up hotspots worldwide next to Silicon Valley. Having the highest start-up density per head of population Israel is the „Start-Up Nation“. With 8,8 Million inhabitants, it already has 6.500 start-ups, with between 1.000 and 1.500 being added to this figure each year (German-Israeli Chamber of Commerce).

Especially the New Kibbutz Internship Programme could be of interest to our students: This programme helps students from Germany to find suitable internships in Israeli startups or companies mainly in the high-tech, life science and IT sectors for two to six months. The contacts established during the excursion to Israel offer much potential for CEIT‘s future cooperation activities.
