Cooperation with the University of Tsukuba


On 6th July 2018 on the occasion of the Japan Science Days a delegation from the University of Tsukuba led by the President Prof. Dr. Kyosuke Nagata visited the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

Prof. Nagata met with representatives of both the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Management and Economics in the International Office. The Faculty of Management and Economics was represented by Prof. Dr. Michael Roos, Dean of Research and Prof. Dr. Matthias Busse, International Affairs Officer.


Prof. Nagata introduced the new Campus-in-Campus-Programme available at the University of Tsukuba, which facilitates the exchange of students and researchers between the University of Tsukuba and partner universities. In constructive talks the possiblity of a cooperation between the Ruhr Universität Bochum and the University of Tsukuba was discussed. The University of Tsukuba is one of the oldest public universities in Japan, and was establlished in 1973 with a new forward-looking concept. It is one of the leading research universities in Japan and has a renowned Business School.
