Certificates and Awards at Graduation Ceremony


On 9th November, 2018 the Faculty of Managment & Economics held a graduation ceremony in the Audimax for the graduates of the summer semester 2018.

Approx. 300 students largely accompanied by their families celebrated the successful completion of their Bachelor or Master degree courses in a special ceremony.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to BOWI, the companies involved and the student council for their dedication and support.

During the ceremony graduates and postgraduates who achieved outstanding results were presented with special awards:

Dr. Lea Eilers („Housing Prices and Neighborhood Structure: Microeconomic Evidence from Germany“, mentor: Prof. Dr. Thomas K. Bauer) and Dr. Bianca Richter („Tightrope Walks in Sales – A Theoretical and Empirical Investigation of Promising and Risky Sales Strategies in Managing Sales Force Interfaces”, mentor: Prof. Dr. Jan Wieseke) were awarded with the Gebrüder-Deschauer-Preis for their excellent doctoral thesis.

The prizes were presented by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Michael Roos.

Jonas Rübertus, B.Sc. was awarded with the thyssenkrupp Student Award for his excellent Bachelor’s degree in Management und Economics. The prize, assigned in cooperation with the ifu, was handed over by Stefan Cassel, Head of University Relations & Programs thyssenkrupp AG.

The Institute of Management (ifu) Prize was awarded to Marco Bösebeck for his outstanding achievement in the Master of Science Management degree course and also to Alexandra Kutter, B.Sc. for her excellent Bachelor thesis. The prizes were handed over by Prof. Dr. Marion Steven.

Judith Staemmler, B.Sc. received the GOR Bachelor Award for outstanding achievement in the field of Operations Research. The prize, awarded by the German Operations Research Society, was presented to her by Prof. Dr. Marion Steven.
