Seminar – Advanced Environmental, Energy and Resource Economics – Winter Semester 2017/18

This module (5 ECTS) gives students the opportunity to explore certain aspects of environmental/energy economics and politics in great detail.

Working either alone or in pairs students prepare projects on topics such as different support schemes for renewable energy / energy efficiency, the success or otherwise of liberalisation in the electricity system or various types of energy contract. In addition projects can be undertaken to review the impact of specific energy/environmental laws which have been passed in Germany or Europe to determine their effectiveness along with potential side-effects.

To be qualified students should have at least a good grade in micro-economics and have studied the basics of energy / environmental issues.

A kick-off lecture will be held on Monday 23rd October at 14.00 pm in GBCF 04/411 when all those interested can obtain more details.
