Optimization of Order Acceptance for Motorail Transportation
In a joint research project lead by the Chair of Business Studies, in particular the Department of Operations Research (Prof. Dr. Werners) and the DB Fernverkehr AG, innovative mathematical optimization models which can be easily implemented in practice using graphical user interfaces have been developed to facilitate motorail transportation. Within the framework of this cooperation the number of order confirmations has increased and the loading process at motorail terminals has been optimized. The results of this project have been successfully implemented since 2012
