Prof. Dr. Christoph M. Schmidt has been welcomed into the Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts

Every year the Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts invites the country’s leading researchers to become new members of the Academy.

The North-Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts welcomed twelve new members on 16th May, 2018. Prof. Dr. Christoph M. Schmidt, expert for Economic Policy, has become a new member in the Class of the Sciences of Engineering and Economy.

The Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts, based in Düsseldorf, unites the country’s most outstanding researchers and is presently working on 20 research projects. The Academy was founded in 1970 as the successor institution of North Rhine-Westphalia’s “Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Forschung” (research working group).

The nomination to become a member of the Academy is an award for outstanding scientific achievement. The members are elected to the respective classes for life. There are four classes: Class of the Humanities, Class of the Sciences and Medical, Class of the Sciences of Engineering and Economy, and Class of the Arts.
